We represent the interests of 300 businesses, trade associations and nonprofits and serve as one of the most effective conveners between the community, public, and private sectors. We provide a high-level of service to our membership, which includes public policy advocacy/research/thought leadership, engagement with our elected leaders, and networking, branding, and marketing opportunities at CCA events.

TITLE: Director of Strategic Relations

REPORTS TO: President & CEO

SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary is commensurate with experience. STATUS: This is a full-time, salaried position.Hybrid work schedule available with minimum 3 days per week in-office work required. Must be willing to work evenings or be available as needed depending on the schedule of events and meetings.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Strategic Relations (DSR) is primarily responsible for stewarding CCA’s broad membership portfolio of more than 300 organizations. The DSR leads the strategic engagement/retention of existing members and drives intentional recruitment of new members. In line with membership management, the DSR also oversees the organization’s development, budget and finance initiatives to ensure that CCA can continue having the greatest possible impact across Los Angeles. The ideal candidate is a creative doer, expert relationship manager and communicator, has a knack for operations and possesses a deep understanding of and interest in Los Angeles civic life. This position works closely with the CEO, organization leadership, and the Board of Directors.

DUTIES:

Strategic Relationship Management

· Lead weekly internal membership meetings and direct the monthly membership renewal process in partnership with the Operations Associate. · Work in partnership with CEO to identify opportunities for CCA to support members and strengthen their relationship with the organization, such as strategic invites to events, policy advocacy or promotional opportunities.

· Develop a feedback loop with members to include regular assessment of value of CCA events, existing and potential programs, and ongoing advocacy and political support for members.

· Support CEO with the strategic process for identifying and successfully recruiting new members based on targets established in conjunction with team and CCA Board of Directors to grow membership base and achieve annual revenue goals.

· Continuously search out opportunities to expand and retain CCA’s membership.

· Coordinate membership recruitment efforts with objectives and priorities of the Public Policy department and CCA Policy Committees: 1) Housing, Land Use & Development (HLUD) Committee, 2) Transportation, Infrastructure & Energy (TIE) Committee, and 3) Tourism & Economic Development (TED) Committee

· Regularly represent CCA at functions being held by member companies, partner organizations and other external events that create value for the organization and that represent networking opportunities.

_ Development_

· Manage organizational fundraising through close internal tracking and regular reporting of progress toward annual revenue goals for CCA’s events.

· Work in partnership with CEO to secure sponsorships, including offering strategic packages, for annual events including Elected Officials Reception/Chiefs of Staff Reception, Holiday Party and our marquee event Treasures of Los Angeles.

· Seek guidance from team and CCA members to provide creative ideas for event programs, including recommendations for thought leadership topics, speakers and sponsors by matching interests, industries and companies’ branding goals.

_ Operations_

· Manage administrative process for dues collection for CCA’s membership portfolio.

· Regularly update and bring transparency to CEO on membership statuses, potential prospects and any necessary relationship management.

· Serve as CCA team expert on CRM tool to comprehensively capture membership portfolio, outlook and trends through regular analysis of membership data by 1) creating monthly reports on recruitment, retention, acquisition campaigns; 2) dues and revenue, both completed and outstanding; and 3) member attendance across all events and meetings.

· Deliver monthly membership status reports to CEO and CCA staff, working with the CEO to compile summary updates for Board of Directors meetings.

· Support CEO’s preparation and regular tracking and analysis of the annual operating budget.

· Other duties and special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience

· Direct fundraising experience with a demonstrated track record of success; experience in personally soliciting gifts and donor relationship management.

· Expertise with database management in a CRM.

· Self-motivated with an ability to work in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.

· Top-notch oral/written communications skills with a drive for excellence and orientation to detail.

· Creative problem solver with strong collaboration, organization, and time management skills.

· People-oriented, with a positive, can-do attitude.

· Passionate about Downtown LA and possess understanding of the role of civic engagement to better Los Angeles.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
