Job Description

  • Provides day-to-day coordination of Street-to-Home Program in collaboration with the Bethesda Cares management team to achieve desired outcomes. Including cross-collaboration with Street-to-Home Program sub-recipient partner organizations.
  • Responsible for accurate HUD APR reporting through utilization of HMIS data, working in collaboration with Bethesda Cares management, data personnel, and sub-recipient organizations to achieve quality data reporting.
  • Supervision of all Critical Time Intervention personnel and implementing all applicable program guidance and human resource functions.
  • Guides staff in providing case management support and utilizing housing first principles, trauma informed care, harm reduction techniques, and strengths-based approach that empowers households. Supports staff in handling difficult or complex cases.
  • Ensures all CTI staff are implementing timely and accurate data management functions including case notes, assessments, data entry into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), and other data management systems.
  • Working with program staff to initiate and coordinate ongoing relationships with community support, including street outreach programs, CoC programs, and permanent housing resources.
  • Promotes professional development of staff.
  • Oversees the coordination of services with the Bethesda Cares Programs Director.
  • Assists with training case management staff in the Bethesda Cares case management approach, trauma informed care principles, harm reduction practices, and motivational interviewing as well as in program-specific procedures.
  • Attends internal and external meetings on behalf of Bethesda Cares and Programs Director as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Licensed -– Master Social Work (Master’s degree required)
  • Minimum of two years of experience providing counseling or case management services to individuals/families experiencing homelessness or other related populations.
  • Working knowledge of the theories, principles, techniques, and practices of social service delivery systems with emphasis on Housing First methodology.

  • Willing to be trained in Critical Time Intervention practices.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of MS Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • May require some weekend and evening hours
  • Travel throughout the Montgomery County community is required.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle required, as well as proof of auto insurance.

Maintain Social Work Licensure through the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners
