Independently uses and applies in-depth knowledge and experience in the specific policy field on projects that typically impact the entire organization or programs external to the organization. Operates in a highly visible, politically sensitive, legally complex and evolving arena. Uses advanced professional concepts and objectives to address and resolve complex policy or program issues. Works on significant, strategic issues and problems requiring political sensitivity, where analysis of circumstances and information requires an in-depth evaluation of factors.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $128,600 - $192,900 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • 7+ years of program management experience, with experience and strong skills managing complex, multidisciplinary initiatives.
  • Extensive knowledge of AI governance and the regulatory landscape in healthcare.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in navigating federal and state regulations, particularly in relation to AI in healthcare.
  • Ability to manage complex issues in consultation with legal and compliance and institute effective mechanisms to support compliance in a dynamic regulatory environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on strategic thinking and policy development.
  • Highly skilled communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with and influence others, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to balance competing demands and timelines to achieve organizational objectives

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in law, public policy, healthcare administration, or a related field
Experience with AI governance and policy in the healthcare setting
Understanding of electronic health records and how they are used
