Majority Conference Services- Administrative and Research Assistant
The Senate Majority Intergovernmental and External Relations Team is seeking a highly motivated and diligent Administrative and Research Assistant to provide support to both teams working to serve members of the Democratic Conference.
Responsibilities:
Administrative Responsibilities 40%
- Scheduling Meetings- work with Majority Counsel and Majority Leader’s scheduling teams to schedule meetings for Director and Deputy Director of Intergov and provide scheduling support to the External Relations team
- Travel Vouchers & Reimbursements - Manage travel requests for members of the Intergov and External Affairs team, working with the Secretary’s office to complete pre-travel approval in a timely manner and process receipts post travel.
- Virtual Support- Assist in setting up and managing webinars and other virtual meetings as needed.
Research Responsibilities 60%
- List Building- Working with External Relations Associates to help build out contact lists for Senate offices as needed
- General Research Tasks as assigned - Working with the Intergovernmental Affairs team to do general legislative related research as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong Research Skills: Ability to conduct thorough research, analyze complex information, and provide concise summaries and recommendations.
- Excellent Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and professionally.
- Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, supporting team goals and priorities.
- Knowledge of Legislative Processes: Familiarity with legislative procedures and State Government a plus
This is a full-time position based in the Senate Majority Conference Services office located in the Alfred East Smith Building, in Albany, New York. The salary range is $50,000- $55,000 annually. Benefits include defined benefit pension plan, health insurance, dental and vision insurance, and paid time off.
