Our clients are foundations, advocacy groups and global brands. We develop and execute strategic public awareness campaigns and offer a wide range of communications services including campaign messaging, media relations, digital strategy, and branding.
We are currently seeking an Account Director with a passion for corporate social good, with a particular emphasis on global health and racial equity. They will oversee a project content development team focused on addressing inequities in access to healthcare in the U.S. and around the world and championing health workers, providing direction for client-facing and internal strategy, communication infrastructure, quality assurance processes, team workflow and assignments.
This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of integrated agency capabilities and a background in building well-rounded communications campaigns for purpose-led brands, including but not limited to branding, digital content creation and platforms, earned media strategy and creative storytelling.
For this particular position, working from the east coast is a requirement, either NY or DC.
Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve in a leadership role over all content development on a global health account, including executive leader posts, blogs and other non-digital content, providing guidance on tone, messaging, and approach.
- Lead story conception & interviewing.
- Determine writing assignments and provide strong editorial eye and guidance to the content development team.
- Identify opportunities for plus-ups; draft proposals, scope and work orders.
- Conduct earned media strategies and related writing including pitches, talking points, statements and more.
- Serve as a detail-oriented project manager, communicating content development tasks and progress statuses throughout Fenton’s largest account team.
- Work closely with parallel workstream leads, developing integrated strategies across strategic communications, digital, and creative.
- Lead or delegate leadership of client requests and content development calls.
- Approve all content for multiple workstreams.
- Provide counsel on story conception and interviewing, as requested.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years’ experience in integrated communications, including traditional and digital communications, agency, or demonstrated equivalent experience in NGO or government public relations.
- Strong writing skills with demonstrated experience creating long and short-form content designed to raise awareness, influence and change opinions/behavior on corporate purpose, including but not limited to issues related to health equity, DEI, sustainability and more.
- Ability to think holistically, beyond the content development workstream, to concept multimedia storytelling approaches
- Experience in a public relations or advertising agency highly desirable; firm understanding of client billing process, client contracts and customer service.
- Experience in global health, racial health equity or corporate social responsibility required.
- Strong and proven skills in project management (staff, budget and client relations).
- Experience creating, launching and optimizing integrated communications campaigns, across social media, editorial, thought leadership and paid media.
- Ability to analyze and optimize campaigns and make decisions based on the data.
- Demonstrated business development, including proposal development, pitching and landing new business skills.
- 2-4 years’ staff management and mentoring experience, including direct management of a staff at varying careers levels.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks under tight deadlines, and interact and perform in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively – both verbal and nonverbal, with various levels of staff, clients, contractors, and media.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness, optimism and flexibility in approach to project assignment.

- We have adopted a hybrid remote/in-office worksite model. We require all employees to live within a 35-mile radius of any one of our four strategic hubs (New York, D.C, LA or SF).
