Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible for managing efforts related to the organization’s youth baseball outreach including:
    • Uniform Program – Primary contact for purchasing, managing inventory, and distributing merchandise to all youth leagues as well as developing and executing plans for ongoing program expansion
    • Champions Day Series – Drive planning, managing and execution of initiatives that honor and engage youth baseball championship teams including a ceremony at the ballpark.
    • Clinics – plan, manage and execute a variety of clinics; oversee interns in clinic execution
    • Work in concert with the Director of Youth Programming to develop new areas of youth baseball support
    • Serve as the department’s primary point of contact for various youth baseball organizations
    • Act as the voice of the community and collaborate with the Corporate Partnerships department to implement youth baseball efforts with current and future sponsors.
  • Engage and building relationships that facilitate the team’s in-kind donations, supervises interns work on fulfillment, and compiles end-of-year reporting.
  • Identifies key opportunities that both engage and grow our communities.
  • Provides administrative oversight (sorting mail, making IT requests, scheduling, etc.) to ensure efficient departmental operations
  • Collaborate with facilities and administration staff to ensure that storage spaces are organized and office supplies are always on hand.
  • Assist the marketing, social and communications team with coordination and execution of various marketing request.
  • Supports Director of Youth Programming, Director of Military Affairs, and Senior Vice President in execution of other community programming (military outreach, K-12 education, MLB initiatives)
  • Works with Director of Youth Programming to hire and train interns
  • Supports the Senior Vice President, Community Engagement with civic partnerships and activation
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in community programming and/or corporate philanthropy
  • Minimum of a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Sports Management, another closely related field or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of community programs, organizations and methods involved in developing community relations programs
  • High character; ability to exercise discretion with confidential matters
  • Strong presentation skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products, with particular expertise in Excel and database management

Physical/Environmental Requirements

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • The position will have game day responsibilities that may include exposure to weather conditions including extreme temperatures.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
  • The position will require walking throughout the facility, as well as standing for extended periods of time.
  • The employee must have a flexible schedule that allows for the possibility of working a combination of days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Compensation:

The projected annual salary range for this position is $55,000 - $63,400 per year. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
