POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The New York City office of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC NY) seeks a professional to fill the position of Senior Program Officer for Programs. This position reports to Director of Partnerships and Programs and the programs staff. The local New York State program, LISC NY, works with nonprofit, community-based organizations to develop affordable housing, commercial enterprises, community facilities, and nonprofit capacity building efforts. Since its founding in 1979, LISC NY has invested over $2.7 billion, leveraging an additional $6 billion in low-income communities. This has resulted in nearly 40,000 affordable homes built and preserved as well as 1.8 million square feet of retail and community space created. We also invest in health, economic development, financial well-being and environmental sustainability so that the communities our partners serve are good places to live, work, do business and raise children. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactively monitor all accounts for balance and expense accuracy
- Manage and oversee the CRM system function for the LISC NY team to maximize alignment between programmatic and funding efforts.
- Review/find local and state resources that will enhance the LISC NY Capacity Building strategy, aligned with intermediary actions.
- Manage reporting and compliance function for the LISC NY fundraising program with internal and external stakeholders. Prepare and submit required reports timely and accurately.
- Prepare budget drafts under guidance of Senior Director
- Review LISC Financial policies and implement across NY Office
- Prepare programmatic budgets and reports as required.
- Coordinate with multiple internal and external parties to meet approval and closing deadlines
- Lead a research process that will develop tools for measuring the progress of community development in New York State.
- Assume responsibility for special projects, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics from an accredited college or university or relevant related work experience
- Self-directed, independent contributor who takes initiative and can create systems and processes to support the inherent duties of this position.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple, complex assignments at various stages . Detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
- General familiarity with and commitment to the community development sector and the critical role of nonprofit organizations in driving inclusive economic development and preserving the unique cultural heritage of neighborhoods.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Sharp time management skills
- Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
- Able to work collaboratively with co-workers and representatives from the nonprofit, corporate, philanthropic, and public sectors, and
- Demonstrated flexibility and poise in dealing with a diverse range of individuals and organizations.
- Intellectually curious, entrepreneurial, and willing to take initiative to propose new ideas to advance our work and impact.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Experience with Salesforce preferred.
- Professional qualification as a CFA/CPA is considered a plus

LISC offers a competitive salary ($83,100 - $103,900; salary commensurate with experience and location)* and excellent fringe benefits.
