Mission Statement:

The mission of the FBI is to protect the American People and uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Major Duties :

Releases factual statements involving a complex array of sensitive issues.

Ensures approval for press conferences and media events from appropriate officials.

Evaluates and analyzes requests from the media to interview FBI officials regarding topics that are sensitive and/or controversial.

Establishes and maintains effective relationships with the national media and special interest groups including those with indifferent opposing goals.

Writes and disseminates national news releases to media representatives on issues that reflect the official position of the Director.

GS 13 : Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 12 grade level.

Specialized experience is :

Responded orally and in writing to requests for information by media and to the public.

Reviewed current press articles or stories and communicated information to appropriate entities.

Disseminated (both orally and in writing) news releases and statements on issues of national significance; coordinated press conferences, news briefings, and interviews.

Responded to complex, critical, and sensitive issues in accordance with regulations.
