Job Description:
Your New Role – Community Engagement Manager!
As a Community Engagement Manager in the Governor’s Office, your primary responsibility will be to plan, develop and implement strategic initiatives to engage with diverse community stakeholders. In this role, you will be expected to research and analyze community needs, trends, and feedback to inform policy development and implementation. You will also be responsible for creating and implementing outreach strategies, including public meetings, community forums, events and partnerships. You will be a consistent representative of the Governor’s Office in community and serve as a liaison between the office and the public, advocating for transparency, accessibility, and inclusivity in all initiatives.
You will be tasked with building and maintaining relationships with community-based organizations, leaders, and residents to ensure their voices are heard and incorporated into decision-making processes. You will be required to track and report on community engagement metrics, assess the effectiveness of those efforts, and continuously seek feedback for improvement from both the communities you serve and the Governor’s Office. Additionally, you will collaborate with Governor’s Office Staff and various agencies to address community concerns, organize events, and facilitate communications between the government and the public.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
OR
  • Any combination of experience and education equivalent to seven years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.

  • Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality, care, and maturity in dealing with complex issues.
  • A deep understanding of State government, community dynamics, and a passion for promoting civic engagement and participation.
