Summary: Assists with the execution of project deliverables for several research and implementation projects. This portfolio of projects focuses on improving the health care system through research and policy. Family Voices is contracted to lead Community Advisory Boards, support lived experience partners in research activities, and provide technical assistance on strengthening family engagement in research and implementation settings.

Position Status: Full-time with benefits; FLSA non-exempt

Work Location: Remote with occasional travel for staff meetings and project work. Dedicated home office working space required.

Compensation and Benefits: Starting hourly rate of $25.32 - $28.49/hour commensurate with experience. Family Voices offers paid time off; health, vision, and dental insurance; short- and long-term disability; flex spending plans; and a 401(k) plan with employer contribution.

Reports to: Program Strategy Manager


General Responsibilities and Duties

1. Carry out project work plans and deliverables in collaboration with project leadership, including but not limited to:

  • Participating in the development and execution of key informant interviews and focus groups
  • Assisting in research activities such as literature reviews
  • Identifying reports, tools, and resources to support technical assistance
  • Revising research materials to be in plain language

2. Participate in building ongoing productive collaborative relationships with project partners, consultants, and other

collaborators.

3. Design, organize, and facilitate meetings and activities to support community and stakeholder partnerships.

4. Provide necessary logistical support for meetings, including scheduling, note-taking and dissemination of materials.

5. Provide administrative support, including:

  • Tracking stipends paid to family leaders and others
  • Ensuring proper citations for documents
  • Maintaining up-to-date project files within existing organizational records, including Microsoft Teams, to ensure current information is available to all project staff on a timely basis

6. Represent and promote Family Voices in national settings through membership on workgroups and committees, formal

and ad hoc meetings, and presentations.

7. Ensure that project files are organized and stored in the designated shared location following standard conventions.

8. In collaboration with project leadership:

  • Setup and maintain the tracking of project plans, tasks, and activities within project management and collaboration tools.
  • Review and approve stipends, contract invoices, and other project expenses.
  • Provide supplemental information for project invoices as requested.
  • Track and follow up on outstanding partner/contractor invoice submission to ensure timely submission and payment.
  • Assist in the monitoring of partner/contractor scopes of work and performance.

Data Collection and Reporting

  • Assist in the analysis of qualitative data and summarize themes identified for project and organizational reports.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of all project reports, bimonthly staff reports to the board, and other reports as needed.
  • Maintain the ongoing tracking of all project activities and their participants in support of project and organizational reporting requirements
  • In collaboration with project leadership, maintain project information across systems (CRM, project management tool, Teams, etc.) and co-develop a data collection plan that facilitates the collection of project activity data from external partners and internal Family Voices staff.

Communications

  • Create presentations and social media content about projects in collaboration with the Program Strategy Manager and Director of Strategy and Communications.
  • Develop multimodal materials for families, providers, and partners in collaboration with the Program Strategy Manager and Director of Strategy and Communications.
  • Write and edit materials for public dissemination, including culturally responsive, family-friendly materials.
  • Adhere to internal and external communication guidelines for sharing information and maintain the confidentiality of proprietary and unpublicized organizational information and data.

Under supervision, perform other duties and engage in tasks that support Family Voices’ mission.

  • Taking detailed notes for key informant interviews


Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of related experience, or a 4-year degree and 2 years of related experience, or a graduate degree with limited (0-2 years) post-graduate experience.
  • Minimum of two years of project management experience, preferably at the state or national level.
  • Experience with community-based research or systems change with a focus on community and child health.
  • Experience working with families, youth, or communities of different cultural backgrounds.
  • Some understanding of maternal and child health systems, health policy, and/or healthcare systems research.
  • Team-oriented working style with strong attention to collaborative approaches to completing activities and achieving project goals.
  • Written and oral communication skills with attention to correctness and accuracy.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Flexibility and a growth mindset.

  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to work independently in a virtual work environment, and as part of a national team.
  • Availability to occasionally work evenings when assisting with events for families and youth.
  • Skills and experience in the effective use of technology and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Experience in data collection, analysis, and data presentations.
  • Experience designing PowerPoint presentations and using a variety of communications tools.
  • In-depth understanding of MS Office suite.
  • Experience with special health care needs preferred.
