Organization's Summary Statement:
The project coordinator will support the operations of the Web Services team within the Office of Marketing and Communications to assist in the timely delivery of planned projects, including today.umd.edu, president.umd.edu, and research.umd.edu. Daily responsibilities include request intake from partners, keeping detailed documentation on projects from sources including ticket discussions and meetings, and tracking daily and weekly tasks across the 9-member team with project management software.
Physical Demands:
Normal Office Environment. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally.

- Ability to work effectively in a team, especially in an open environment where active discussion and meetings take place in common space.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to take direction and execute tasks independently.
- Effective time management skills to move quickly between multiple projects.
- Comfort with Slack or similar business messaging apps such as Google Chat or Microsoft Teams.
- Proficient in use of office software: Google Suite (including Docs, Sheets, Slides); Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to learn and to ask thoughtful questions when things are unclear.
- Interest in how a team can efficiently create technical solutions to meet partner requirements and best engage university audiences.
- Familiarity with project or task management software such as Linear, Asana, Basecamp or Jira.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: One (1) year of professional administrative or coordinator experience.
- Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of best practices in organization, administration, and customer service.
- Knowledge of proper protocol in dealing with confidential information.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
- Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service and sensitivity to a culturally and ethnically diverse community.
