Sales/Business Development Leader

ASP seeks an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial sales / business development leader to join our growing media organization. The position will pioneer our sales strategy, foster new and existing relationships across brand, corporate, association, and nonprofit sectors, and execute a diverse portfolio of advertising sales and client partnerships. Agencies and consultants will also be considered.

Job Description: The position will support ASP's senior leaders in developing and executing sales strategies. Key roles and responsibilities include:

• Develop sales strategies in coordination with ASP leadership
• Identify new market opportunities and research potential clients, working with ASP's senior leaders and editorial team to develop proposals and sales materials
• Execute sales strategies across multiple markets
• Develop leads, generating both new business and fostering existing partnerships
• Lead sales meetings with clients, identifying opportunities, client needs, and helping shape effective proposals
• Evaluate and report on partnership performance internally and in client-facing materials
• Identify, track, and report on sales targets to senior leaders

Key Qualifications:

• 3-7 years of sales experience with a proven track record of success
• 1-5 years of experience selling issue advertising
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with national agencies and advertisers (existing clients and contacts preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to sell ideas to senior leaders or key partners
• Education: B.A./ B.S. / MBA preferred
• Location: DC, NY, LA preferred
