Job Description
ASP seeks an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial sales / business development leader to join our growing media organization. The position will pioneer our sales strategy, foster new and existing relationships across brand, corporate, association, and nonprofit sectors, and execute a diverse portfolio of advertising sales and client partnerships. Agencies and consultants will also be considered.
Job Description: The position will support ASP's senior leaders in developing and executing sales strategies. Key roles and responsibilities include:
- Develop sales strategies in coordination with ASP leadership
- Identify new market opportunities and research potential clients, working with ASP's senior leaders and editorial team to develop proposals and sales materials
- Execute sales strategies across multiple markets
- Develop leads, generating both new business and fostering existing partnerships
- Lead sales meetings with clients, identifying opportunities, client needs, and helping shape effective proposals
- Evaluate and report on partnership performance internally and in client-facing materials
- Identify, track, and report on sales targets to senior leaders
Key Qualifications:
- 3-7 years of sales experience with a proven track record of success
- 1-5 years of experience selling issue advertising
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with national agencies and advertisers (existing clients and contacts preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to sell ideas to senior leaders or key partners
- Education: B.A./ B.S. / MBA preferred
- Location: DC, NY, LA preferred
