Job Title: Program Associate, Education Agency Practice

Salary Range: Starting at $55,000, depending on experience

Role type: Full-time

Location: Remote/hybrid - must be located in the Midwest, Northeast, or Mid Atlantic; strong preference for Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, or New York City

Travel expectations: 30-40% travel, varies throughout the year 


Project Evident is seeking a Program Associate to join our Education Agency Practice (EAP). We are looking for exceptional talent who are deeply committed to delivering better outcomes for students. 

This person will conduct research, develop content and presentations, and coordinate key logistics for client engagements. Candidates who enjoy project management and rolling up their sleeves to do the work will succeed here. ABOUT THE ROLE

The Education Agency Practice works hand-in-hand with state and local education leaders to use data and evidence to continuously improve operational, financial, policy, and programmatic decisions in the pursuit of better student outcomes. In this role, you will ensure that coordination and execution are of high quality and meet practice, client, and organizational objectives. Key activities will include project management support, content preparation for client engagements and projects, supporting meetings, and coordinating logistics.You will also maintain project management tools to help the project lead ensure that the project remains on-time and in-budget, and that our partners get real results from our work.

You will, in the short term, report to the Managing Director/Chief Impact Officer, Bi Vuong, and work closely with other members of the EAP team.  In the long run, as the team grows, you will be reporting to another member of the senior team. 

Below is a full list of responsibilities you can expect in this role:

  • Support with collecting, researching, synthesizing and analyzing information to generate content, reports and related needs to support client or department needs
  • Stays up to date on on key trends and relevant field developments to inform decisions and methods
  • Works with the team to create tools & resources that can be used for multiple engagements and shared more broadly
  • Create, share, update and manage all infrastructure related to each engagement
  • With guidance, manage document review process with clients: request, track and conduct necessary document synthesis
  • Conduct and summarize research on policies, processes, governance structures and publicly available information as requested
  • Works with team to draft, write, edit, quality documents, presentations, and/or Excel models, for internal and external presentations
  • Engage in qualitative data collection and analysis and synthesis of qualitative information
  • Support the senior EAP leaders to maintain Salesforce, project management tools, and knowledge management activities
  • Support in the development and codification of tools, work plans, and processes to streamline operations
  • On behalf of senior EAP leaders, serve as a liaison with clients, including: coordinating the logistics for client engagement meetings, shepherding the agenda, sharing key materials and relevant links, taking and sharing notes


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You need to be able to support a project lead by being able to conduct research and synthesize information, generate high quality presentations, and help maintain project timelines. Throughout our engagements, you will also need to develop a deeper understanding of our partner’s context, specifically, and the education sector more generally.  

We are also looking for someone who wants to be a part of the K-12 education sector and cares deeply about student outcomes. You are committed to ensuring that our work has direct impact, will roll-up your sleeves and support where needed. You are someone who thrives in a fast-paced and remote/hybrid environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience doing research and creating high quality content
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment on multiple projects; ability to effectively prioritize time and tasks 
  • Proven ability to work under tight timelines, accurately assess problems, and develop solutions
  • Impeccable attention to detail and extremely high standards for accuracy
  • Experience working effectively with multiple stakeholders who may have evolving priorities
  • Ability to solve problems and is an active listener who seeks clarification, asks questions, and surfaces solutions.
  • The ability to independently research and consolidate information including technical documentation and policy
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to write and copy edit clear and concise narratives and presentations.
  • High degree of proficiency with Google and Microsoft software including Docs/Word, Slides/Powerpoint, and Sheets/Excel
  • Located in the Midwest, Northeast, or Mid Atlantic; strong preference for candidates based in Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, or New York City
