The Lyft Public Policy team is looking for a Policy Development & Research Senior Manager to navigate the fast changing Future of Work landscape and advance policies that make it easier and more rewarding for drivers to work in the way they choose. We are looking for an emerging leader - with swift execution skills - who can adapt quickly in an increasingly fluid political, economic and regulatory environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a highly diverse set of both near term and long-term policy projects
  • Apply both quantitative and qualitative rigor to design modern and creative public policy
  • Provide concise, strategic advice on engagement with policymakers and labor unions
  • Build Lyft's thought leadership in the Future of Work, together with our community partners
  • Support our government relations, public engagement and communications teams with clear and persuasive, data-driven messaging that is carefully tailored to their respective primary audiences

Experience:

  • 7+ years working in public policy, politics, law, or management consulting preferred
  • High level of comfort working with complex data and using it to develop persuasive arguments with stakeholders
  • Highly proficient in Excel
  • Experience conducting policy analysis
  • Experience leading large and complicated negotiations with external stakeholders and/or experience representing an organization in a public setting
  • First-class academic results in law, political science, economics or other quantitative disciplines
  • JD, MBA, MPP or other post-graduate studies are a plus

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.

The expected base pay range for this position in the Washington, DC area is $139,000-$173,750. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
