Job Description
The Congressional Labor Caucus seeks a full-time Labor Caucus Assistant for our Washington, D.C. office to help with Caucus communications and administrative work.
This role will support the day-to-day operations of the Caucus, including coordinating events and meetings, as well as assisting with the Caucus’ communications efforts. The ideal candidate will be proactive, tech-savvy, a strong verbal and written communicator, and committed to the Caucus’ mission of advancing a pro-worker, pro-union policy agenda.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with meeting preparations, including scheduling and preparation of materials, as well as managing room reservations and logistics for regular Caucus meetings and events;
- Developing and executing communications strategies, including content creation for social media platforms (social media copy, graphics, videos), and the Caucus’ website;
- Drafting statements and talking points for Caucus leadership, as well as toolkits and other resources for Caucus members;
- Monitoring and tracking legislative developments, social media trends, and relevant news stories;
- Drafting the Caucus’ weekly newsletter and maintaining contact information and distribution lists; and
- Assisting with other special projects as needed.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the labor movement and general labor policy issues;
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft engaging digital content (graphic and/or video editing experience a plus); and
- Detail-oriented and proactive, with a strong ability to handle logistics and troubleshoot challenges.
The salary range for this position is $55,000-65,000.
