JOB POSTING: Caucus Assistant and Digital Storyteller

The Democratic Women’s Caucus is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Caucus and Digital Assistant to work full-time in Washington, D.C. This role will support the day-to-day operations of the Caucus, event and meeting coordination, and assist the Communications Director with the DWC’s digital outreach efforts. The ideal candidate will be proactive, tech-savvy, a strong verbal and written communicator, and committed to advancing the DWC’s mission of advocating for policies that support the economic, social, and political empowerment of women. The DWC amplifies the expertise and voices of the 95 Democratic women in the U.S. House of Representatives. It serves as a convener and collaborator to tell the stories of America’s women and how legislation advances or harms women’s opportunities, security and health.

This role reports to the Communications Director of DWC and works closely with other DWC staff, DWC members and DWC members’ staff.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Digital Communications Support:
  • Assist the Communications Director in the development and execution of digital communications strategies, including content creation for social media platforms (social media copy, graphics, videos), and the DWC’s website;
  • Compile weekly press clips;
  • Monitor and track legislative developments, social media trends, and news stories relevant to women’s issues;
  • Occasional support with media list management. 
  • Administrative Support: Provide general office and administrative support for DWC, including:
  • Assist with meeting preparations, including scheduling and preparation of materials;
  • Assist the team with other special projects as needed;
  • Maintain Member and staff contact information and distribution lists for DWC to effectively communicate with offices;
  • Update and maintain the DWC Resource Center with DWC toolkits, resources, fact sheets, and event memos;
  • Draft the DWC weekly newsletters, floor cards, toolkits, Caucus memos, and more;
  • Event & Meeting Operations: Assist with the scheduling, coordinating, and addressing day-of needs for DWC events and meetings. This includes:
  • Compiling and distributing event and meeting materials;
  • Managing room reservations and logistics for meetings and events;
  • Organizing catering, ensuring timely delivery, and managing dietary preferences;

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft engaging digital content, including graphics and videos.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive, with a strong ability to handle logistics and troubleshoot day-of event challenges.
  • Familiarity with traditional and emerging social media platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a strong passion for advancing women’s issues.

Please note this role includes some physical tasks like lifting and pushing carts as part of event setup and logistical responsibilities.

Salary and Benefits: The salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000. Additional benefits include health, dental and vision insurance; retirement benefits; student loan repayment assistance; ability to work remotely during non-session days; among other benefits including transit benefits.
