Position Summary:
The Digital Communications Strategist will be an integral member of the team and will help lead online communications for the DCCC. The ideal candidate will have previous campaign and/or Capitol Hill experience and possess a high degree of organization. Responsibilities Include:
  • Produce organic content & programming on the DCCC's Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube channels, including rapid response and evergreen content.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement new digital media strategies - demonstrating an understanding of the fluid nature of digital communications and platforms.
  • Develop content for Digital Tipsheets and Toolkits to be dispersed amongst Democratic House campaigns, influencers, and relevant digital partners.
  • Identify opportunities for digital growth and implement those strategies.
  • Work in tandem with the DCCC’s in-house Creative Team on long-term and short-term multimedia projects, often with an eye toward using those projects to garner earned media in competitive districts.
  • Work with members of the Digital Communications & Creative teams to engage influencers as it relates to the House battlefield.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of either communications or digital storytelling experience. Understanding of strategic messaging and strong writing skills for all social platforms.
  • Fluency in a wide variety of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Threads, YouTube and TikTok.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to draft social copy quickly for rapid response purposes.
  • Experience in video editing and graphic design are a plus.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, digital strategy, research support and management consulting.
