What You’ll Do:

As the Senior Policy Coordinator, you will:

    • Advocate for Change: Engage policymakers to develop and implement equitable prenatal-to-3 policies.
    • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with MCC’s direct service and communications teams to advance key policy initiatives.
    • Drive Legislative Impact: Monitor and analyze maternal and child health, early care, education, and economic security legislation.
    • Craft Policy Content: Contribute to policy briefs, white papers, and blog posts, advocating for solutions grounded in lived experiences.
    • Lead Coalitions: Coordinate multi-stakeholder coalitions and campaigns aimed at addressing disparities in maternal and child health.

Who You Are:

    • Policy Expert: You bring knowledge of maternal and child health, early care, and education policies.
    • Equity Advocate: You have a deep understanding of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) principles, and are committed to modeling inclusive practices.
    • Collaborative Communicator: You excel at working with stakeholders and internal teams to communicate policy impacts.
    • Self-Starter: You are detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities with ease.

What You’ll Need:

    • Experience: 1-3 years of public policy or grassroots advocacy experience, preferably in the nonprofit or public sector.
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Public Health, Political Science or related Social Science degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in lieu of degree considered.
    • Knowledge of Government Processes: Familiarity with Philadelphia and/or Pennsylvania government and political processes is a plus!
