Job Description

Calvary Women’s Services seeks an experienced manager who is passionate about using their skills and experience to further Calvary’s mission of empowering homeless women to transform their lives and achieve their personal goals by offering comprehensive support services and housing in a respectful and compassionate manner.

The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, well-maintained and clean environment for residents and staff in Calvary’s transitional housing program. The Operations Manager oversees building security and maintenance, staff scheduling  and  supervises and evaluates the performance of the Resident Assistants. Core hours are from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm each weekday with flexibility to allow for meetings and other activities that may occur during evenings or weekends.

Primary Duties 

  • Work with the Property Management Company to report and resolve building maintenance issues
  • Oversee security systems and protocols
  • In collaboration with the program manager, create and manage the staff schedule
  • Manage reception desk to ensure timely, accurate delivery of mail, packages, supplies and messages
  • Recruit, hire, train and supervise Resident Assistants
  • Work with the Property Manager and Cleaning Vendor to ensure a clean, sanitary environment
  • Monitor inventory and order facility and program supplies.
  • Work with Program Manager, Chief Program Office and Chief Operations Officer to ensure that all program specific policy documents are up to date and available to all staff
  • Work on-call shifts as scheduled

  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Outlook

Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • 2 plus years managing a property to include maintenance and security
  • Experience with supply management and ordering
  • Non-profit experience preferred.

Work Environment Requirements

  • Own transportation is required for trips out of the office
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 30 pounds without assistance.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Climbing: Ascending or descending multiple flights of stairs, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period.
