Public Affairs & Marketing – Conference & Events Project Manager, Associate
Job Description:
A fast paced, unique opportunity in Conference and Events Management supporting a team of professionals on a variety of tasks. An estimated 70% of time will focus on the online webstore featuring branded merchandise for the firm, with an estimated 30% of time spent on a variety of projects across the Events team. These tasks include, but not limited to the following:
- Facilitate and manage the development of our online merchandise store, Shop Blackstone
- Oversee and manage the internal online store of branded merchandise and gifting
- Create and update seasonal inventory reports and sales presentations
- Track and process invoices including assigning cost codes and receiving approval from managers
- Coordinate vendor meetings for new products and seasonal inventory
- Complete expense and out-of-pocket reports including tracking receipts and charge codes
- Work on a variety of event related ad-hoc projects
- Assist professionals in complementing events with the right merchandise (event materials can include staging backdrops, table cloths, pads & pens, gifting, etc.)
- Manage inventory reports and restocking process.
- Work with vendors to come up with new sustainable merchandise options as well as options that support minority/women owned businesses.
- Streamline the branding approval process with the branding/publishing team. This would involve working with the teams to create a guide as to what logos can/cannot be used.
- Work directly with business units to enhance the usage of the site for their needs by the way of customization with the store management team.
- Work to streamline the consumer order process from start to finish
- Negotiate the best pricing including shipping with all vendors
- Elevate the look and feel of our internal online store of merchandising and gifting
Qualifications:
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.
The successful candidate must have:
- 3+ years work experience in luxury retail, corporate merchandizing, or a promotions company
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate thoughts clearly
- Interest in pursuing a career in events management
- Background in retail, ideally with a luxury brand
- Can identify performance trends, brand opportunities and inventory risks
- Experience with analyzing inventory and sales reporting
- Strong knowledge on luxury brands and merchandise
- Creative and ability to think outside of the box
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Self-motivated and resourceful
- Accountable team player
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Strong analytical skills including Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel)
