The Office of Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (VA-04) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Press Intern to work in her Washington, DC office for the Fall 2024 term. This is a paid internship. The internship is intended for current undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates interested in gaining invaluable congressional experience. Ideal candidates will have strong written communication skills, a working knowledge of graphic design software and best practices, and the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. Candidates with Virginia ties are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

The Fall 2024 internship term runs from September through December 2024. Exact start and end dates are negotiable. Internships are in-person and offered on a part-time and full-time basis to accommodate student schedules.

 

Press Intern tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Drafting copy and designing graphics for social media
  • Compiling daily press clips
  • Answering and screening phone calls
  • Maintaining press lists
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Communications Director or Digital Director
