SUMMARY   

USA for UNHCR (U4U) is seeking a Senior Associate, Donor Engagement who will play an integral role on the Direct Response – Offline team working under the supervision of the Sr. Manager, Donor Engagement producing effective donor appeals and acknowledgments to help drive improved donor retention, gift frequency and revenue for U4U. 

The Senior Associate, Donor Engagement is responsible for supporting the optimization of key aspects of the donor development program, focusing on mid-level and individual giving donors. This role includes overseeing donor acknowledgment processes, welcome series, and various offline donor campaigns aimed at retention, upgrading, and enhancing donor value. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Manages the acknowledgements, welcome series/journeys and other campaigns in the offline donor development program for mid-level and individual giving donors from implementation and analysis, to achieve retention, upgrading and value targets. 
  • Oversees the content strategy for the programs/campaigns in their portfolio in collaboration with Fundraising and Communications teams, ensuring consistency of message and that content always reflects USA for UNHCR’s brand and narrative. 
  • Develops and implements testing strategies for their portfolio of campaigns. 
  • Manages creative briefs and content approvals for their portfolio campaigns, securing input and buy-in from internal and external stakeholders, following plans through from conception to implementation.  
  • Works with internal teams and the agency partner to develop and implement new and existing donor journeys from inception of the donor’s lifecycle bringing to life the powerful content that UNHCR and U4U produces to further engage and retain donors. 
  • Working in conjunction with the stewardship team, assist with the implementation of telemarketing campaigns across segments including welcome, upgrade, conversion and recapture of sustaining donors. 
  • Assist with the implementation of DRTV campaigns during level 3 emergencies or other bespoke opportunities to acquire and develop donors acquired through DRTV. 
  • Participate in budget development for portfolio campaigns and manage the budgeting and reforecasting of these programs. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE   

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience managing direct mail campaigns and other marketing projects and initiatives. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  •  In lieu of education/degree requirements a successful candidate will: 
    • Have some experience with or exposure to digital acquisition campaigns and strategies for enhancing direct response marketing through the use of social media, digital advertising, and email. 
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and roles.   
    • Proactive mindset and willingness to take risks and learn from setbacks.   
    • Strong relationship-building skills and adaptability

  • Strong computer literacy including use of Salesforce, Microsoft Office suite, and other software and tools as required. 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems systematically, integrate information from multiple sources, propose and implement solutions and monitor their effectiveness. 
  • Ability to carry out the essential functions independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Detailed-oriented and organized with excellent analytical and communication skills. 
  • Direct experience growing a program based on analysis and testing 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy 
  • Sound judgment and emotional intelligence when interacting with colleagues, peers, and vendors.  

WORK LOCATION    

Hybrid + Washington, DC + May also involve travel to some locations within the company’s region of operations and select donor locations.  

COMPENSATION   

$73,540 - $79,457
