Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a Communications- or Research- related field or equivalent work experience
Experience with computer-based research and analytic tools (Netbase, Critical Mention, Lexis-Nexis, Factiva, etc.)
Proven knowledge of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts
Spanish fluency (written and verbal)
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
Strong writing skills.
Positive attitude.
Previous experience in a newsroom, Communications or Public Affairs organization.
Proven experience developing internal and external relationships.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Ability to effectively work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
Ability to have flexible work schedule to accommodate extended operational hours necessary for supporting clients in California and internationally, this may include weekends, late nights or early mornings.
Provide in-depth, analytical research support to global clients within Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Public Affairs.
Draft extensive research reports, using multiple primary and secondary research sources; including recommendations that contribute to the development of public affairs strategies.
Quickly synthesize information from a variety of sources to identify communication risks and opportunities; and make recommendations that contribute to the development of effective public affairs strategies.
Create in-depth and timely media recaps, including searching for and selecting appropriate traditional and non-traditional news clips and analyzing them for tone, key themes, relative importance based on reach, important quotes, etc. Recommend follow-up action as a result of findings.
Proactively identify and actively monitor trends relevant to the Disney Parks business and communicate findings/recommendations to key leaders.
Work closely with other teams to monitor and analyze traditional and social media coverage related to the Disney Parks business and communicate findings and strategic recommendations to appropriate leaders.
Develop internal and external relationships to aid in the cultivation of primary research sources.
Help support primary research projects as part of integrated public affairs strategies.
Participate in a routine 24-hour, on-call rotation to support Public Affairs research as needed (including weekends).
Work an alternating schedule of 9 a.m.-5 p.m. or 1-9 p.m. shift Monday through Friday, and be flexible to respond to real-time research requests.
