Position Summary:

Working cooperatively with professionals and lay leadership, the Planning Director drives forward the data analysis and impact measurement work within UJA. This position will work closely alongside the CPER Operations team to ensure data quality and integrity. The Director will facilitate conversations to develop evaluation priorities from across the Planning Division and will develop a measurement and evaluation agenda around those priorities. The Director will translate the results of the measurement and evaluation projections into actionable learnings and insights. The Director will continuously refine and improve the impact measurement framework for the division and guide teams in establishing measurable goals and monitoring progress against them. The Director will also assist in other special data or measurement assignments from across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Operations team and planning professionals to establish priority areas for impact evaluation annually.
  • Lead and manage a small team focused on measurement, evaluation, and learning.
  • Lead the impact evaluation and learning program for the planning division by conducting evaluations of these priority areas.
  • Translate the results of these impact evaluations into actionable learnings and insights that will be shared with lay leaders and the community.
  • Improve the impact measurement framework by refining the data taxonomy within the Planning division.
  • Improve the data collection efforts alongside the Operations team towards measuring outcomes rather than outputs and both work within, and contribute new ideas towards, an existing framework.
  • Assist colleagues in the Planning Division in setting measurable goals and monitoring progress against them.
  • Conduct surveys and evaluations on an as-needed basis for the organization.
  • Conduct special data projects/assignments as needed.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of professional work experience and 3-5 years of relevant evaluation and measurement experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preference for at least a Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Hands-on experience leading the planning and execution of impact evaluations, as well as applying a variety of qualitative and quantitative evaluation techniques
  • Strong project management experience demonstrating ability to meet multiple deadlines, maintain a high level of organization, move quickly from one project to another, manage expectations/timelines to achieve results
  • Demonstrated managerial experience
  • Familiarity with Qualtrics is preferred
  • Able to work independently while also proactively keeping colleagues and stakeholders informed of progress
  • Engages and works collaboratively; able to effectively deal with ambiguity, and respond to issues with diplomacy
  • Ability to make executive decisions while operating with a high degree of respect for professional colleagues and lay leadership

Salary Information:

The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $130,000; commensurate with experience and qualifications listed above.
