Job Summary

The Healthcare Policy Intern performs a variety of tasks and services to support the Consultancy’s clients. In addition, the Intern’s duties include writing, researching, attending and summarizing policy guidance, hearings and meetings, and assisting the CHS team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports the Crowell Health Solutions (CHS) team through a variety of administrative and project management efforts.
  • Monitors health policy to include tracking of relevant Congressional (e.g., House E&C, Senate HELP, Senate Finance) and Agency activities (e.g., HHS (ONC, CMS, OCR), FTC) to keep healthcare clients informed.
  • Drafts summaries of policy activities for clients and the CHS website.
  • Tracks the status of legislation and hearings, new or upcoming regulations and identifies agency activities (roundtables, conferences, grants, etc.) that may pose client opportunities for agency engagement.
  • Summarizes health policy events for clients (Congressional hearings, agency webinars, roundtable discussions or events by key policy stakeholders, etc.)
  • Conducts policy and regulatory research and basic analysis.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge or prior experience with federal policy and/or health care.
  • Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts, regarding matters of a complex nature. Requires patience, creativity and discretion.
  • Knowledge of MS suite to produce quality written communications such as memos, spreadsheets, slides, and standard work documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines and managing workload.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic and friendly manner to accomplish position functions and participate in team efforts.

Education

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and some graduate studies or work related to health care delivery, payment or technology, health care regulations or legislation, public health or public policy.

Additional Information

Our Firm is committed to fair and equitable compensation practice in accordance with applicable laws. The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $30/hr. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus. The salary for this position may vary based on location, market data, an applicant’s skills and prior experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other factors.
