Job Overview
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Manager of Annual Giving and Special Projects Position reports to the Vice President of Development and External Affairs. The position is responsible for executing all annual events and special projects throughout the year including but not limited to special events, house parties, the spring and fall appeals, peer to peer program, staff giving, and the acknowledgement process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Designs, implements and grows all annual giving campaigns including special events, direct mail and online giving.
2. Works with the Vice President of Development and Development Committee to manage PPMNJ’s special events portfolio to meet ambitious attendee and revenue goals.
3. Oversees and manages all aspects of the spring and fall direct mail appeals. Implements market best practices to secure new donors and encourage existing donors to repeat and or increase their year-over-year giving.
4. Works with VP of Development to plan and execute the Annual Peer to Peer Campaign, Staff Giving Campaign and other community giving events.
5. Oversees and manages all aspects of the acknowledgement process to ensure efficiencies, attention to detail, and timeliness. Ensures creative copy is community-centric and updated multiple times a year. Determines the need and includes personal notes from the appropriate staff when warranted. Identifies letters that must go to CEO for personal note and live signature.
6. Works closely with major stakeholders and vendors to maximize event fundraising and sponsorship opportunities.
7. Manages event budgets and implements industry best practices to drive success.
8. Manages production deadlines and works with Director of Marketing and Communications to design copy for all annual giving collateral.
9. Works with Development Associate to ensure excellent customer service and accurate record keeping for
special event and direct mail donors. Provides premium level stewardship techniques in a “1: Many” execution and personal outreach using high- touch techniques, including thank you calls and emails, special invitations.
10. Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards; analyzing and resolving quality and donor problems; identifying trends; recommending system improvements.
11. Completes special projects as assigned and required.
Attends webinars, workshops and conferences to further expand knowledge.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,453.00 - $78,780.00 per year
