The Organization
The Fiesta Bowl's mission is to be a world-class community organization, dedicated to providing premier college football bowl experiences and local events that serve as economic drivers for Arizona and provide charitable resources for our community. As a nonprofit organization, we believe in the importance of fostering a culture of community outreach and service.
Based in Scottsdale, AZ, the Fiesta Bowl hosts a variety of local events each year, as well as two elite bowl games, the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl held at State Farm Stadium and the Guaranteed Rate Bowl held at Chase Field. The Vrbo Fiesta Bowl, Guaranteed Rate Bowl and events, Fiesta Bowl Charities has given nearly $27 million in charitable giving the last nine years alone and nearly $32 million to the Arizona community in the last 14 years.
The Position
The Fiesta Bowl is searching for a Coordinator of Community to join the team and support the work of Fiesta Bowl Charities and the Community Relations team. This position will support and report to the Director of Community Relations. The ideal candidate will have experience with event management and previous experience in the education or nonprofit sector.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Fiesta Bowl grant cycle and Empowering Diversity scholarship including ACF software and data reporting.
- Assist with CR programs and initiatives building the brand of Fiesta Bowl Charities in Arizona including but not limited to Wishes for Teachers, Spirit’s Birthday Party, playground builds, resource room and teacher lounge refreshes, football field donation, Operation Santa, Player Outreach, and more.
- Manage a select number of Fiesta Bowl Charities events as assigned.
- Assist with content for Vrbo Fiesta Bowl and Guaranteed Rate Bowl publications including but not limited to Entertainment Guide, Game Programs, Media Guides, organization’s Newsletters and Annual Community Impact Report.
- Assist with photo and video creation and content for Fiesta Bowl Charities Events.
- Plan and coordinate periodical volunteer opportunities for Fiesta Bowl Committee, Board, Ambassadors, staff and volunteers.
- Assist with the “Spirit” mascot program, creating promotional opportunities through Fiesta Bowl and community events.
- Assist with the Fiesta Bowl’s charitable ticket donation campaign, strategically donating event tickets.
- Assist with the Community Relations inventory for giveaway items.
- Assist with Vrbo Fiesta Bowl and Guaranteed Rate Bowl 50:50 raffle, recruiting volunteers and assisting with logistics.
- Assist with third-party sanctioned events throughout the year.
- Assist with CR event execution for all ancillary Fiesta Bowl events such as the Par 3 Challenge, Spring Summit, Youth Football Clinic, and Parade.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field highly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
