United Way of Hall County is a local non-profit organization whose mission is to unite people, organizations and resources to improve lives in Hall County.

Position Title: Director of Advocacy

Position Description: Drive forward awareness of the Community Game Plan by working with the CPO, staff, volunteers and key community stakeholders. Support planning, development, and management of One Hall United Against Poverty and Read Learn Succeed. Volunteer coordination and management of volunteer portal. The ideal candidate will exemplify the organization’s values of being a partner, a leader, trustworthy and selfless through support of and engagement with donors, volunteers and community stakeholders.

Immediate Supervisor: President and CPO, United Way of Hall County

Key Responsibilities:

· Serve as a professional representative of United Way of Hall County, complying with established guidelines and in support of the organization’s mission and vision.

· Provide day-to-day coordination for One Hall United Against Poverty, Read Learn Succeed, volunteer portal and additional advocacy initiatives as assigned by president/CPO.

· Work with community partners, president, and board of directors to identify program goals and objectives and document progress toward those goals. Tasks include taking minutes of all committee meetings, scheduling committee meetings with input from collaborative, developing agendas with input from leadership, conducting research as directed. Candidate will create a project management system to track and advance various initiatives.

· Engage with diverse community organizations to promote collaboration to achieve a common objective

· Provide leadership to build volunteer engagement

· Participate in scheduled staff meetings and training events.

· Perform additional functions or assume additional responsibilities as needed or as requested by your supervisor.

· Plan executive initiatives and events associated with volunteer coordination and One Hall Committee work.

· Search for and apply for funding for events and initiatives.

· Provide supervision for interns.

Skills:

· Experience with public relations, writing and editing desired

· Strong listening, coordination, facilitation and consensus building skills

· Organizational and interpersonal skills a must

· Ability to manage multiple projects and operate in a deadline-oriented environment

· Demonstrated ability to positively represent the organization at professional and social events

Candidate will be asked to use personal car for business and must possess valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Candidate will be reimbursed for mileage.

Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent and 3-4 years of related nonprofit work experience

Position is full time, 40 hours a week, and requires flexibility due to meeting and event schedules.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $59,000.00 per year
