Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. Program Description: The Manhattan Outreach Consortium is a borough-wide initiative to reach out to and quickly move street homeless individuals into permanent housing. The Manhattan Outreach Consortium collaborates with various community partners and healthcare agencies throughout Manhattan.
Purpose of Position: The Operations Assistant assists with overseeing the daily operations of Goddard’s homeless outreach programs, including vehicle maintenance, supply inventory, and office repairs and maintenance. The Operations Assistant will work under the Facilities Department at Goddard Riverside.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Salary Range: $43,000 - $48,000
Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.
Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties
- ) Vehicles
- Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities: oversee fleet vehicles, including scheduling and coordinating oil changes, inspections, winter condition service
- Routinely inspect MOC Goddard vehicles to ensure proper performance and functionality
- Assist with unscheduled maintenance of fleet vehicles: tire changes/ maintenance lights
- Maintain vehicle maintenance logs
- Ensure vehicles are cleaned and washed routinely, including interior inspections
- Partner with Dispatcher/Operations Specialist to renew registrations and parking permits
- Assist with obtaining quotes and coordinating major repairs
- ) Facilities
- Ensure PPE supplies are continuously in stock at the outreach offices
- Respond to work order requests from the three Goddard MOC offices in a timely manner to resolve minor office maintenance issues such as: change lights, small installations, office furniture assembly
- Partner with outreach departments to ensure adequate office/cleaning and manage cleaning supplies inventory
- Outsource locksmiths, contractors, electricians, plumbers
- Assist Goddard outreach teams with coordinating offsite files
- Coordinate with outreach departments on bulk office purchases
- Partner with the Director of Facilities to oversee office renovations
- Oversee facility related invoices and credit card charges, ensuring they are submitted in partnership with program admins

Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- High School diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets the agency’s auto insurance guidelines (including at least 1 year as a licensed driver and no suspensions within the last 3 years)
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance
- Ability to assist with minor office repairs/furniture assembly
Computer Skills
- Experience with or ability to learn Microsoft Office
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking and standing
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs
Work Environment
- Indoors and outdoors; all weathers
- Work out of multiple offices both uptown and downtown Manhattan locations
- Able to drive and handle heavy city traffic
