What You’ll Do:

You will support X’s Global Government Affairs engagement internationally, working alongside our regional and in-market Government affairs leads. • Meet with key government, political, and civil society representatives to help them understand X and advance policies beneficial to X and our users.
  • Identify opportunities for X to defend free speech
  • Monitor public policy issues of importance to X, and help determine when proactive engagement is wise and warranted.
  • Represent X at industry gatherings and coalition meetings, speak publicly on policy panels at events and conventions.
  • Develop a strong network of contacts with third-party public interest groups engaged in technology policy issues.
  • Provide front-line support on issues requiring engagement, solving problems, and escalating to internal colleagues as needed.
  • Ensure the high quality preparation of presentation materials for engagement with policymakers, regulators, and lawmakers.
  • Work closely with leaders from other functions, especially legal, to ensure our strategies are aligned with XFN interests.

Who You Are:

We’re looking for a person with exquisite judgment who combines significant experience in politics, public policy and technology. You will have deep expertise and understanding of X’s regulatory and political environment around the world, have a track record of being a strong leader and an accomplished strategist in legislative and regulatory fora. You are comfortable engaging with Governments and regulators at the highest levels, in both public and private settings. You are capable of fashioning strategies for thorny public policy issues and seeing them through to successful implementation. You understand the value and purpose of engaging with a broad stakeholder community and their relation to public policy strategies. You are an effective people manager with experience in motivating teams. If this sounds like you, it’s likely you also possess:

  • A passion about the importance of protecting free speech
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Fluency in additional language besides English strongly preferred
  • An understanding of laws and regulation important to X and our users
