Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-7) seeks a positive, well-organized, and detail-oriented District Director in her Houston, TX office. Primary duties include managing the Houston team; managing operations for the TX-07 offices; communicating and coordinating with the DC office; building and maintaining relationships with community leaders and local government officials; attending local events as the Congresswoman’s representative; and staffing the Congresswoman.  

Strong candidates will have previous managerial experience, be able to successfully manage multiple projects at once, communicate well across different team departments, develop strategic plans, demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, pay attention to detail, function well in a team-oriented environment, and anticipate problems and offer solutions. Candidates should be able to communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment with good humor, and to work effectively with different teams in the office as well as community organizations and government offices. 

This position will require flexible working hours and availability by phone and email during evenings and weekends. Previous congressional office or government experience is highly desirable. Salary is commensurate with experience. This is not an entry-level position. Interested candidates should email their cover letter, resume, and references to TX07.hiring@mail.house.gov with the subject line “District Director.” No phone calls or walk-ins please.
