Job Description
Position Overview: The Digital Director/Communications Assistant will play a pivotal role in Congressman Davis’ communications team, supporting the creation and execution of the Congressman’s digital and media strategy. This position will focus on maintaining an active online presence, creating digital content, and managing social media platforms. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, possess strong writing skills, keen attention to detail, and be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment while promoting the Congressman’s priorities and engaging with constituents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage Congressman Davis’ social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), ensuring timely and relevant posts that engage with constituents.
- Create digital content, including graphics, videos, and written materials that promote Congressman Davis’ legislative priorities and public appearances.
- Maintain and update the Congressman’s website, ensuring timely and relevant information is posted.
- Assist in drafting and editing press releases, speeches, and talking points to promote the Congressman’s initiatives.
- Help coordinate responses to media inquiries and monitor press coverage.
- Draft and send email communications (newsletters, updates, etc.) to constituents, keeping them informed about Congressman Davis’ work and priorities.
- Design digital graphics, infographics, and videos to communicate key messages and legislative priorities in an engaging way.
- Provide regular updates to the communications team about the effectiveness of digital outreach and make recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, website management, and digital marketing tools.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content for diverse audiences and platforms.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all digital content and communications.
- Experience with graphic design and video production tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
