Senator Tim Sheehy seeks to hire a proactive, resourceful individual who will work closely with the Chief of Staff (CoS) to create a high-performing and collaborative team. Your insights and strategic mindset will contribute to improving workflows, developing a more robust team dynamic, and advising on strategic priorities and policy decisions. This role will ensure that the office’s overarching goals are developed into actionable plans and executed seamlessly with clear communication and coordination strategies among leadership, stakeholders, and within the department.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Applicants must have strong leadership abilities to handle complex responsibilities, including staff management, strategic planning, policy analysis, and stakeholder management.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the CoS’s office, ensuring efficient workflow and management of priorities and schedules.
  • Act as a liaison between the CoS and other departments and external entities to facilitate clear lines of communication and project coordination.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement strategies to streamline processes, improve communication, and maintain high team morale.
  • Track, review, and analyze team performance and provide guidance to the CoS.
  • Coordinate and implement CoS initiatives, ensuring timely execution and within budget.
  • Review and analyze policy reports, proposals, and documents submitted to CoS, providing summaries and recommendations.
  • Represent CoS in meetings or events when unavailable.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Security clearance preferred TS-SCI.


Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years of management experience. Deputy/Chief of Staff experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s in related field.
  • Strong time-management and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of planning, executing, and managing complex projects.
  • Understanding of legal requirements and policies to minimize risks while supporting the organisation’s mission.
