To assist us in meeting our mission, Project Bread – The Walk for Hunger is seeking an Assistant Director, Major Gifts, to join our growing team.

Supervisor: Director of Development, Individual & Corporate Giving
Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000
The Role: In this newly created role, the Assistant Director, Major gifts will be instrumental in growing and developing Project Bread’s major gifts program and donor pipeline. The Assistant Director, Major Gifts will be a key contributor to department strategy and be a frontline fundraiser, raising funds from individuals, families, and family foundations. The successful candidate for this role will be an inspiring leader with a passion for system-change to end hunger in Massachusetts.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects and donors, with a focus on gifts above $10,000
● Work strategically with the Director of Development to evaluate current programs and create and execute new plans and processes for the major gifts program and donor pipeline
● As appropriate, prepare well-written materials for donors visits, strategy documents, solicitation proposals
● Work as a part of fundraising team to steward and maintain confidential data, including adding notes and updates to the database regularly and collaborating to develop and improve reporting.
● Collaborate with colleagues (development and communications as well as programmatic and operational) to maximize donor engagement and philanthropic commitment
● Provide support for high-level and strategic organizational relationships with Board Members, the Advisory Council and Walk for Hunger participants.

● Experience and understanding of RE NXT a plus
● 4-7 years fundraising experience
All employees are currently working remotely and will not return to the office until it is safe to do so. At that time, the Assistant Director, Major Gifts will need to be present in the East Boston office on a regular basis.
The Project Bread office is in East Boston. While there are various types of remote, hybrid and office-based positions, all staff are expected to occasionally be in the office.
