Job Title: Senior Coordinator, Baseball Communications
Department: Communications
Reports To: Manager, Baseball Communications
FLSA: Salary, Non-exempt

DUTIES:
  • Assist with managing baseball issues and work in coordination with Manager, Baseball Communications, Director, Public Relations, and SVP, Communications, regarding crisis communications and messaging
  • Assist with the writing, editing, and publication of baseball information materials, including pregame notes and postgame notes
  • Coordinate the preparation, production, and publication of team rosters, stat packs, lineups, and other gameday related material
  • Write press releases, media advisories, roster transactions, and talking points regarding baseball-related announcements
  • Assist with research, writing, and editing of the team’s annual Media Guide and Postseason Media Guide
  • Track player and team milestones and historical records
  • Assist with MLB Draft preparation and coverage
  • Aid in trade deadline preparation and coverage
  • Assist with International Signing Period preparation and coverage
  • Update and follow minor league prospect rankings and minor league affiliate news and information
  • Assist with press box preparation, maintenance, and announcements
  • Develop creative ideas to generate positive publicity for players, coaches, and minor league prospects
  • Assist with the coordination of player, coach, and staff interviews
  • Assist with off-season media events, including press conferences, conference calls, and events in the community
  • Oversee player awards, including MVO and MiLB
  • Assist with other department communication messaging for baseball-related topics, as needed
  • Assist with intern and assistant management as it related to baseball communications
Position includes travel as main PR contact for the team on the road
Experience and Qualifications:
  • 4-year college degree in public relations, sports management, communications, journalism or related fields
  • At least three years of experience in public relations for a professional sports team or Division I college program preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • Extensive knowledge of baseball, especially as it relates to statistical analysis
  • Solutions-oriented demeanor and superior teamwork skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask a variety of deadline-driven tasks effectively
  • Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and travel
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Creative Suite, and statistical research tools

The anticipated salary for this role is $48,000- $52,000 annually depending on experience.
