Job Description
The Administrative Assistant will provide support to the Commission on Prosecutorial Conduct’s (CPC) attorneys and investigators as they conduct confidential investigations into allegations of prosecutorial misconduct in New York State. The Administrative Assistant will report to the Deputy Director of Investigations. Duties of Administrative Assistant will include, but will not be limited to:
- Providing direct administrative support to office staff including creating, scanning, and organizing electronic files;
- Answering the main phoneline;
- Intaking confidential complaints submitted to the CPC, completing mail log and preparing acknowledgment letters;
- Proofreading and editing confidential internal materials;
- Proofreading and editing external materials;
- Assisting the attorneys with additional correspondence and investigative and hearing preparation;
- Assisting in special projects as needed to enable the CPC to carry out its statutory mandate; and
- Tracking and processing expenses and travel documentation.
Minimum qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and one year of specialized experience. Substitutions for Bachelor's degree include four years of specialized experience or an Associate's degree and two years of specialized experience.
Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
Preferred qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, proficiency in proofreading, ability to manage complex and highly confidential information, and capability to multitask and work on projects for multiple teams. The ability to perform audio transcriptions is highly valued.
