Senator Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) seeks a press assistant for a fast-paced, state-focused communications team. The position’s primary responsibilities include compiling and distributing news clips; managing the lists for press contacts and local stakeholders; media monitoring; overseeing the press internship program; conceptualizing and writing op-eds; assisting the Press Secretary with the drafting of press releases and media advisories, and pitching local and national media. Candidates should be proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple assignments on tight deadlines. Strong writing and interpersonal skills are a must and a collaborative workstyle is required. Nevada ties and proficiency in Spanish (both written and verbal) are preferred.
