Ontario Promise Corps Member

Ontario Promise Corps is currently recruiting AmeriCorps members for 3 different program areas

• Promise Scholars Advisor - works to ensure that students develop academic mindsets that contribute to college-going behaviors, gain the information and skills necessary to explore the full range of college options, and then enroll and attend college. Selected members are expected to contribute to internal learnings around effective student engagement, texting campaigns, and data management practices to help Promise Scholars collaborate with counselors, teachers and administrators, devise creative approaches to reach and connect with students and families, and play an integral role in changing the lives of the students they serve.
• Early Learning Advisor - working with children ages 0-4 and serving the community, this position will build relationships and awareness of the program in targeted neighborhoods via outreach and marketing, recruit a targeted number of participants and implement workshop lessons to groups of parents/caregivers and their children. As an AmeriCorps member, the selected individual will collaborate with librarians, business owners, the public, and administrators to establish positive connections with students and their families; assist in evaluating and refining the Raising Little Learners program; create marketing materials, and perform other related work as necessary.
• Youth Mentor - This position provides tutoring and mentoring to students; information and resources to assist with higher education attainment; establishes positive connections with students and their families, and performs other related work as necessary.
