The Health & Human Services Agency is accepting applications for

CHILD AND FAMILY WELL-BEING SERVICES POLICY ANALYST

Child and Family Well-Being Policy Analyst is a professional classification responsible for providing managers and executives with general administrative support in a variety of Child and Family Well-Being program areas. Incumbents have specialized knowledge of State and Federal regulations, codes and statutes, governing Child and Family Well-Being programs, and use this knowledge to analyze, interpret and implement new legislation and regulations from the State and analyze the impact those changes may have on the County, and may provide legislative analysis and opinions to HHSA managers and executives. The Child and Family Well-Being Policy Analyst is allocated to the Child and Family Well-Being (CFWB) program of the Health and Human Services Agency.
Under general direction, incumbents are expected to exercise judgment within guidelines and to independently provide management with the expertise necessary to identify, evaluate, and resolve organization and administrative problems including recommending changes in policies and procedures and developing methods for implementation and evaluation. Incumbents perform the most complex administrative and analytical work requiring sound safety and risk assessment and good casework practice related to Child and Family Well-Being. In addition, incumbents must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to present or train new material to staff at all levels.

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency with 24 units in a social or behavioral science, or a closely related field AND four (4) years of experience performing the most difficult child welfare services casework or intervention services as a Protective Services Worker for the County of San Diego or an equivalent public protective services agency.

Notes:
A master's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in social work. psychology, counseling or closely related field, based on a two (2) year program which included supervised field placement providing social casework and counseling services to individuals and families, may substitute for one (1) year of the experience requirement stated above.
The term "public protective services agency" listed above is defined as that of any U.S. state or county agency providing child welfare services comparable to the County of San Diego, Health and Human Services Agency. (Note: This may also include Federally recognized tribes.)

Qualified applicants will be placed on a six (6) month eligible list based on scores received during the evaluation of information provided on the supplemental questionnaire.
