GPAC is partnering with an established and well-regarded organization serving senior citizens to identify their next Communications Specialist.

This role provides an opportunity to further build the brand, conduct outreach and support the operations of an organization making a big impact in the community.

This is a full time, on-site position. The organization's main office location in Greensboro. They are seeking candidates with the following qualities:

Position Summary

This position conducts strategic communications (social media, media relations, etc.) while supporting operational needs of the leadership team in growing partnerships (scheduling, data management, etc.).

Job Responsibilities

  • Grow the organization's presence, brand and following through newsletters, campaigns and other strategic communications
  • Manage and update content on the company’s website and social media platforms
  • Coordinate media relations and respond to information requests from the media
  • Organize and promote special events and conferences
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies
  • Collaborate with different departments to ensure consistent messaging
  • Conduct market research to understand public perception
  • Support operational needs of organization and leadership team (scheduling, data entry, etc.)

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills
  • Have knowledge and experience in communications, digital marketing and social media strategies
  • Be organized and exhibit “follow through” on tasks and goals
  • Experience or ability to learn databases / Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform(s) such as Blackbaud
  • Must embrace the organization's mission of serving senior citizens
