The Opportunity:

As a communications professional, you bring the knowledge and skills necessary to inform and engage key audiences and successfully promote an organization and the important work that they do. We’re looking for an experienced communications specialist like you who is ready to use their communications and creative skills in support of a Department of Defense client.
Here, you’ll grow your consulting skills to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports the Department of Defense and its mission to prevent harmful behaviors within the military community.
As a communications specialist on our team, you’ll closely impact the development of creative strategic communications solutions to a variety of problems of moderate or difficult scope and complexity. You'll collaborate and build relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients, and interact with senior leaders in the department. As a collaborator on all aspects of verbal and written communications, you’ll help with outreach and engagement, and you'll create materials such as talking points, speeches, media responses, press releases, briefing cards, slide decks, slick sheets, websites, and social media content calendars.

You Have:
- 3+ years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or marketing
- Experience in a DoD or government organization public affairs shop creating communication materials for military audiences, including senior leaders
- Experience with traditional media publications or responding to media or journalists on behalf of a large organization
- Ability to foster relationships with key stakeholders, including internal Department of Defense leadership and service members
- Ability to develop and execute comprehensive strategic communication plans to enhance visibility, favorability, and community engagement
- Ability to clearly and accurately convey messages in a fast-paced environment
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in a Communications or Marketing field
Nice If You Have:
- 3+ years of experience with government consulting
- 3+ years of experience in Public Affairs
- Experience with conference and event planning and coordination
- Experience tracking, measuring, and analyzing effectiveness of communication efforts
- Experience with legal, regulatory, or congressional processes
- Experience with graphic design, including Adobe InDesign or Illustrator
- Possession of excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills
- Possession of excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail for high-visibility deliverables
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $54,000.00 to $123,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
