Job Description
Our campaign is seeking to hire canvassers who will outreach to voters in the Richmond District. This program’s goal is to do voter outreach to voters in the Richmond District to re-elect Connie Chan as District 1 Supervisor. We will primarily be door knocking so applicants must be comfortable with attending in person activities in the Richmond District. We are a progressive campaign committed to electing a candidate that will serve the people and ensure working class families can continue to live and thrive in San Francisco.
WORK SCHEDULE & HOURS: This position is part-time, up to 20 hours a week, through November 5, 2024. The hourly rate after training is $25 per hour with no benefits. Under AB 5, canvassers will be hired as employees.
Work hours are Monday - Thursday (3 PM - 7PM) and Saturday - Sunday (10 AM - 2 PM) or (3 PM - 6 PM).
PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend trainings and develop understanding about the candidate, policy platforms, messaging, and community response
- Talk to hundreds of people each week (by phone call or door knocking)
- Complete accurate data entry
- Share daily report summaries during our debrief meetings
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Commitment to the campaign and to re-elect Connie Chan as D1 Supervisor
- Able to work Monday to Thursday from 3 PM to 7 PM and some weekends 10 AM to 3 PM or 3 PM to 6 PM
- Ability to do physical activities including walking a few hours a day, door knocking, and other in person activities
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn and familiarize oneself with programs such as Zoom and PDI
- Possess a functioning phone to make phone calls
- Strong motivation and adaptability, including ability to work under pressure and with deadlines
