Job Description
Position Objective
NYFA is seeking a Fiscal Sponsorship Program Officer with expertise in the nonprofit performing arts (dance, theater, music) sector to join our team. The scope of the position includes program administration and customer service, leading consultations, and facilitating public programs. This is a full-time position at 32 hours per week.
Ideal candidates will have prior experience in development, philanthropy, and/or fiscal sponsorship, as well as an interest in educating artists about fundraising, business development, and entrepreneurial skills. Practicing artists and cultural workers are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualifications

Core Duties - These activities occur on a monthly basis:
- Program administration:
- Utilize NYFA.org website tools and artist portal.
- Work closely with the Finance department to review and assess payment requests to ensure they are within the scope of the project.
- Complete website bug-reporting and testing for new features.
- Correspondence with artists, including: award notification letters, Fiscal Sponsorship Newsletter, and event invitations.
- Prepare acknowledgement letters for tax purposes.
- Application reviews, notifications, preparing contracts, registration.
- Customer service:
- Offer prospective applicants guidance on fiscal sponsorship and the application process to NYFA’s program.
- Answer constituent questions related to fundraising, fiscal sponsorship, and utilizing the fiscal sponsorship web-portal.
- Lead consultations with individual artists, collectives, and organizations about fundraising, budgets, and project management.
- Review and provide feedback to constituents about grant proposals. Submit grant proposals, managing submissions, and reporting processes.
- Support event and program marketing by creating content.
Additional Duties - These activities occur on a periodic basis:
- Stay current on relevant issues in the field of fiscal sponsorship, philanthropy, and development through reading articles, attending professional development workshops, and sharing this information with NYFA’s constituents.
- Administrative support on annual contract renewal and evaluation.
- Contribute to articles on NYFA’s blog.
- Design and host public programs, workshops, discussions and networking opportunities for artists across disciplines.
- Lead public presentations about fundraising, grant writing, fiscal sponsorship and NYFA’s mission and programs.
