  • Bachelor, or Master, degree from an accredited course of study, in political science, aviation/aerospace, aerospace engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of working with aviation regulations, regulatory permissions, and/or aviation stakeholder outreach
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and associated policies in aviation and/or related innovative areas like drones
  • Detailed oriented and highly organized, with ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (e.g., verbal, written, and listening), and presentation skills.
Amazon Prime Air is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist. This role is part of our US Regulatory Affairs and Strategy team, and will be responsible for obtaining regulatory permissions and engaging with external aviation stakeholders in support of new site launches for Amazon Prime Air, Amazon’s drone delivery service.

Key job responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate Prime Air’s site-specific strategies for obtaining aviation approvals and facilitate conversation with aviation stakeholders locally and nationally, as appropriate.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, like Legal, Public Policy, Public Relations, Engineering, Flight Operations, and others to align on strategy, messaging, and project management.
  • Manage any necessary environmental evaluations, including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and/or California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) evaluations.
  • 7+ years of working with aviation regulations, regulatory permissions, and/or aviation stakeholder outreach
  • Experience with FAA regulations and associated policies related innovative to drones
  • Detailed oriented and highly organized, with ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently and lead others in a fast-paced environment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
