Role Description

Tony Vargas for Congress is hiring a full-time Latino Engagement Director to join our team for the 2024 cycle. The Latino Engagement Director will work under the Field Director and be primarily responsible for organizing the Latino community focused on: voter registration, volunteer recruitment, persuasion efforts, and GOTV. The ideal candidate for this position will be self-motivated, hardworking, and have some experience on a campaign, committee, or PAC, preferably in the field department.


Job Responsibilities


• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for phone banking, voter registration and

canvassing events in the Latino communities

• Must be able to hit metric goals on a weekly and monthly basis.

• Build up a strong volunteer base and understanding of the area for Get Out the Vote

(GOTV) in November 2024.

• Develop and maintain a strong and trusting relationship with the local leaders,

candidates, volunteers, and partner organizations.

• Provide daily/weekly reports of voter contact and volunteer recruitment data to the Field

Director.

• Plan and recruit for weekly volunteer events in your respective area.

• Self-motivated, organized, and willing to grow and take feedback

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to balance and prioritize between multiple projects

• Excellent verbal communication skills

• Superior attention to detail

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines

• Commitment to establishing a culture of respect and community on our campaign

• The capacity and willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred

  • Experience in community engagement and advocacy


  • Knowledge of local Latino community and issue

  • Experience in political campaigns or public service is a plus

The salary for this position is $4,000 - $4,500 a month, commensurate with experience. The position will be required to relocate to Omaha, NE.
