Job Description

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Development, the Grants Manager is responsible for researching, identifying, writing, and submitting grant proposals on behalf of Dallas Afterschool.

Key Responsibilities include:

•       Research,  identify,  and  evaluate  corporate,  foundation,  and  governmental  funding opportunities. Interpret regulations and guidelines to determine eligibility and suitability.

•       Write and submit grant applications to secure funds necessary to meet annual fundraising goals.

•       Manage required grant and/or stewardship reports and work regularly with the VP of Development to discuss fiscal year funding scenarios.

•       Work collaboratively with program staff to maintain ongoing knowledge of the activities and programs throughout the organization.

•       Maintain grant management tracking tools using Salesforce, including master calendar, submission logs, and report due dates.

Work collaboratively as member of the Development Team and provide support for various fundraising projects as needed.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

•       Two years of grant writing experience in a non-profit environment.

•       Demonstrated success in writing grant proposals resulting in awards of $50,000 and above.

•       Solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants.

•       Experience working with major foundations and corporate giving programs in Dallas is preferred.

•       Strong understanding of principles of nonprofit organizations and fund development processes.

•       Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

•       Ability to work both independently and as part of a team when necessary.

•       Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.

•       Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.

•       Experience with Salesforce a preferred.

 

Professional Qualifications:

•       Bachelor’s Degree

•       Passion for the importance of quality afterschool and summer programs.

  Working Requirements:                                                                                                                             

•       Dallas Afterschool has a hybrid work environment that requires working on site Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

•       Employees are also required to contribute as needed to annual fundraising events.
