Position: Full-Time Program Assistant, Non-exempt

Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday -Friday, occasional evenings and weekends

Reports to: Program Manager, Teresa Perez

Location: In person/ East Palo Alto and North Fair Oaks

Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center’s newest office in South San Mateo (East Palo Alto) seeks a fulltime program assistant to support its outreach and programming efforts. The ideal candidate will engage with  clients and community partners enthusiastically while promoting our programs and services, take pride and ownership in their work, and be passionate about business, community, and economic development, particularly in communities of color.  The working hours for this position are from 9:00am. to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. However,  evening support may be required for workshop assistance (clock-in accommodations will be provided on such dates) and occasional weekend hours.

Renaissance is a not-for-profit social impact organization working at the intersection of social, racial and economic justice to transform lives and communities through entrepreneurship. We deliver comprehensive entrepreneurship training, access to capital, special programs for women and ongoing support that directly addresses the challenges disadvantaged communities face as they strive to achieve economic mobility. Our work demonstrates that through small business ownership, individuals who face systemic barriers to economic opportunity due to race, gender, sexual orientation, income level, immigration status, or former incarceration can achieve economic mobility, create better futures for themselves and their families, and play pivotal roles in building local economic prosperity

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

– Creating outreach materials and conducting outreach to residents and businesses of

East Palo Alto, Redwood City, North Fair Oaks, Menlo Park, San Mateo City, and San

Carlos

– Providing day-to-day support to clients, including doing intake, creating client files,

troubleshooting technical issues with client portals or enrollment

– Providing day-to-day support of Renaissance programming, including starting classes,

managing data entry and quality, and maintaining calendars

– Supporting events such as marketplaces and networking events

– Supporting social media content creation

Qualifications:

– Be well-organized and detail-oriented

– Be bilingual English-Spanish

– Be familiar with communities in South San Mateo County

– Have some event planning experience

– Enjoy talking to people on the phone and in person

– Be creative and comfortable with social media

– Have experience with MS Office, Google, Canva, and Zoom

– Be able to travel to do outreach at client businesses and partner organizations

Compensation and Benefits: Competitive salary ($45,00-60,000 based on experience) and generous benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K, paid time off, holidays, and a great group of colleagues and clients.
