Position Summary:

The Institute for Justice (IJ) is seeking a Major Giving Operations Manager to join our fundraising team as they work to raise IJ’s $45+ million budget annually. The successful candidate will enjoy using their organizational skills to maintain and cultivate IJ’s current highest dollar donors and their creativity skills to develop strategies for introducing prospective donors to IJ. This position is ideal for a motivated self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is focused on producing results.

Characteristics:

  • Ability to follow instructions and identify potential improvements to processes
  • Ability to execute multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Possess the creativity and persistence to try new things without getting discouraged as it relates to converting prospects into donors
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM program a plus, but not required
  • Experience in sales, development, or marketing a plus, but not required
  • 5-7 years of fundraising, office administration, or operations experience
  • Command of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Must be willing to make phone calls

Responsibilities:

  • Manage IJ’s high dollar donor solicitations
  • Manage IJ’s new high-dollar giving club
  • Coordinate travel for IJ’s President to meet with current and prospective donors
  • Enter and acknowledge high dollar donations
  • Play an active role in VIP prospecting, including taking the lead on the general outreach plan for prospects as a whole and develop cultivation strategy for individual prospects
  • Manage bi-annual internal meetings to discuss existing VIP donors
  • Execute action plans as determined by the team during prospect review and other meetings
