Job Description
The Office of Senator Michael Bennet seeks a Regional Representative to cover either the Central Mountains or Northwest Region of Colorado. The Office provides the opportunity to engage directly on issues of local and national importance from Colorado’s beautiful Western Slope.
This position will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with local leaders, planning the Senator’s travel in the region, connecting Colorado communities to the Senator’s legislative agenda in DC, and assisting constituents who need help from a federal agency. This position serves as the Senator’s liaison to the region and interacts regularly with elected officials, community organizations, and the public.
Ideal candidates will have experience in public service or community organizing, and strong ties to Western Colorado. An ability to engage professionally, confidently, and compassionately with members of the public, including elected and state and federal agency officials is a must. Strong writing and oral communication skills; an ability to multi-task and work on tight timelines; and organization and attention to detail are essential for the position. Self-directed, motivated, and entrepreneurial individuals with a desire to serve Colorado communities are highly encouraged to apply.
The salary for this position is $55,000-$60,000. The Senate provides comprehensive benefits including health insurance, student loan repayment based on eligibility, paid time off, parental leave, and retirement. The position will be located in Grand Junction or the Central Mountains of Colorado.
