Representative Rick Larsen seeks a District Director to oversee and manage operations in Washington's Second Congressional District. The District Director will manage staff in the offices in Everett and Bellingham, including management and development of outreach staff. Responsibilities include hiring, training, and managing all office staff, representing the Representative at local events, identifying local events and delegating appropriate staff for attendance at events, overseeing casework and community outreach, planning and executing events, and maintaining robust and effective communication with stakeholders, elected officials, and staff in the District and Washington, D.C.

Understanding of the Second District and Washington state is expected. Management experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to public service; excellent oral and written communication skills; thoroughness and careful attention to detail; ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment; ability to work cooperatively and courteously with others in a fast-paced office; and knowledge of federal agencies and their role in delivering services.

This position requires some travel throughout the district and flexible hours, including work on nights and weekends.
